Life Coach

It's a term that always sounded a little goofy. To me, it was something that sounded useful for people with messed up lives, not me. I didn't need a life coach. I have a good life; I'm happy. Why would I need a life coach? A little over a year ago, my boss mentioned the idea of "life coach" to me. I didn't think all that much about it at the time. That boss has now left my company. His last day was Wednesday. As I reflect on the last few years that I've worked with him, it suddenly occurred to me that he has been my life coach. He has helped me make my life better than just good. With his advice and guidance, I've improved my health and finances, and new opportunities have opened up for me. There is no phase of my life that hasn't been improved with his influence. My boss has moved on to chase a personal dream, which I find inspiring. Now, when I need strength, I know I can ask myself, "What would Joe do?"

Thank you Joe.
